ARRL in cooperation with NOAA and the National Weather Service presents Skywarn Recognition Day. This is a 24 hour HAM radio event where we attempt to contact as many weather station offices around the country as we can.

Setup will be on Friday December 1 from 1:00 PM until the event starts at 5:00 PM. We will need to have 4 - 8 folks to get everything set up. If you have equipment you can bring, primarily HF, let us know when we send you the confirmation email asking what shift you would like. Teardown will be on Saturday December 2 immediately following the event at 5:00 PM until everything is packed up.
We have 8 three hour shifts to fill along with setup and tear down.

We still need 21 folks to sign up to get a full roster for the event and we need folks who are willing to work setup and tear down.  If we don't have enough folks registered to have at least 3 people per shift with at least one Extra or General per shift by November 20th, then we will not be holding Skywarn this year.  If you have equipment that you would be willing to set up for the event then please contact me directly (HF radios, Packet, Digital modes, HF multiband portable antennas... we have enough VHF/UHF equipment)

Friday Dec. 1 - 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM – Setup

Friday Dec. 1 - 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Shift 1

Friday Dec. 1 - 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM - Shift 2

Friday Dec. 1 - 11:00 PM - Saturday Dec. 2 - 2:00 AM - Shift 3

Saturday Dec. 2 - 2:00 AM - 5:00 AM - Shift 4

Saturday Dec. 2 - 5:00 AM - 8:00 AM - Shift 5

Saturday Dec. 2 - 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Shift 6

Saturday Dec. 2 - 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM - Shift 7

Saturday Dec. 2 - 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Shift 8

Saturday Dec. 2 - 5:00 - ? - Teardown

We would like to have it so that no one works more than 2 consecutive shifts.  Security is different this year than in previous years.  YOU MUST sign up for a shift and you need to be there just before your shift starts (like 10-15 minutes).  The doors will be locked and EVERYONE must sign into the Weather Service's log.  You will not be able to "just drop by" as has be the case in the past.  If you are not on the roster for that shift or you show up at a time other than a scheduled shift change the folks working that shift will ask you to return when you are scheduled (per weather service request).

Friday December 1, 1:00 PM until Saturday December 2, 9:00 PM?

2016 Spring Tour de St. George April 16th

Hello all,

Just short of 7 weeks away from this year's Spring Tour de St. George on April 16th and we find ourselves quite a bit short on support for this ride.  Due to the number of routes and complexity of the routes available for this ride we need more SAG for this event than we would normally need.  Additionally, we haven't heard from as many folks wanting to help out with our rest stops and Net Control as we have in the past.

Here are the positions we still need support for:

1 - 2 Net Control operators - I will be setting up my camper with multiple dual band radios and antennae as the Net Control station
5 Rest Stop Comms operators
5 - 7 SAG drivers (need to be able to transport at least one rider and bicycle and assist riders with basic maintenance tasks)
2 - 3 Shuttle drivers (need to be able to transport 3 - 4 riders and bicycles from rest stops back to start/finish)
2 - 5 Motorcycle route leads

As you can tell from this list of open spots we are only at about half of the volunteers we had last year.

If you are interested, or if you know anyone who might be interested in helping out with this ride, including any new HAM's you may know of, please contact me ASAP so we can insure we have all the support for this ride that we need.

Hello all,

Just under 2 weeks until the opening event for this year's Century Bicycle rides in Utah and due to having a couple of folks drop out due to family issues, we are still looking for a few more volunteers.
We could use 1 - 3 SAG drivers and 2 - 3 Shuttle drivers for this ride.

This is a great way to get out and practice using your equipment and working in a live, real time net.

If you are aware of any newly licensed HAM's that may be interested in helping out have them contact me ASAP.

Thanks for your time and consideration.  For more information regarding this event please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
