Ira Parkes, K7ERR, got his Novice license in 1958, and was an active member of the Bountiful AmatuerRadio club in the 1960-70 time frame. He helped organize the Mercury Amateur Radio Association, ERRS, and the Present ERC. He was active in the Air Force MARS program for 35 years, a founding member of the Davis County Amateur Radio Club in 1983. He became a Silent Key on 26 June 1983. His grandson John Parkes now holds his call sign K7ERR
