May 9, 2020 CLUB MEETING – SKYWARN/SPOTTER TRAINING

This month’s club meeting will focus on Skywarn and Spotter Training. This training will be conducted by Kevin Barjenbruch who is with the National Weather Service.

About our Presenter

Kevin Barjenbruch serves as the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office Salt Lake City, UT.  Serving as the primary customer service representative to the local community, including media and a diverse emergency management and response community, Kevin’s current focus is on improving awareness, preparedness, and response related to hazardous weather events.  As such, he spends much of his time meeting with emergency management officials to ensure they are informed of decision support services that the National Weather Service provides, as well as working with communities on hazard preparedness and mitigation initiatives, such as the Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador and StormReady programs.  Kevin also serves on the State Emergency Response and Utah State Hazard Mitigation Teams.
